[#3116016]

I was about to buy a planet X nanolight - (its actually in my basket !) but, I hear there is a new model road frame to replace the nanolight coming out in October -

Does anyone know anything about it and is it worth waiting for or should I just buy this nanolight -only a few left?

thanks!

if they haven't even announced it yet my guess is 12 months to arrival (PX and on one seem to specialise in early "guerilla" <spits> promotion and delayed release)

The Nanolight hasn't been around that long, would love one, but have an SL Pro which does the job at the moment.

For any road bike, unless you need it now, would be holding off till October(ish) when Ultegra di2 6770 finally arrives, to see what that goes for on a complete bike.

It doesn't replace the Nanolight - it sits between it and the SL Pro Carbon

The Nanolight Hi Mod is an excellent frame - far, far better performance than its (current) price tag suggests. I have one and rate it very highly - fast, light, stiff but comfortable, stable at speed, climbs well - everything you could want, and well finished too. Push the button! ๐Ÿ™‚

Bear in mind that tyre clearance on the nanolight is very tight with 23c tyres (conti attack/force 24's won't fit) and zero chance of fitting guards other than race blades.

Interesting, I was told the reason for low stock was as it was being replaced, don't think I can wait that long anyway, the worry was that something better would come out of the price would be lowered to sell them off quick.

All the time its being sitting in my basket, I've ended up adding a ton of other stuff ! cunning tactics.

unless it's in stock at Planet X make no assumptions, the carbon 29ers have been coming for a year and still haven't landed

Brant referred to quota's and anti dumping rules that seem to hamper them

Cool, All positive - I've convinced myself that while I wanted a white one then the guru colour,I can't actually wait so I'll have to stick with black - which from the pictures looks awesome anyway !

I was in the Planet X showroom early last week, I've got to say everything looked a lot better in the flesh. Some of the road bikes looked particularly nice

V nice, is that stock ?

Unfortunately, They don't have any whites in L so I'm forced to go for black.. ho hum less cleaning I guess.

Although the raw carbon looks pretty cool in some of the photos

Ta, not stock. Bought F&F only, the rest came off my Cayo which suffered an accident ๐Ÿ™

Big improvement though, Cayo seemed really harsh by comparison.

I saw the Ti ones, also nice, for some reason I'm leaning towards carbon. To be fair anything is better than my steel Sunn road bike-given the amount of riding I'm doing think its time I upgrade.

There seems to be a lot of bike for your money at the 1K price tag, ribble, focus etc something v nice about the planet x ones, seem less garish than all the other offerings !

Just adding my pedals to the basket and then I'm eating pasta for a month...

Are the Ti frames butted or plain gauge?

Well looking at the price of the Ti frames has put a spanner in the works ... Nanolight vs Ti with SRAM force, there is only a couple of hundred between them !
