Well, where are they?
Are they still going to be cheap as £150?

Bump.
I'm interested too, as I'm looking to replace a 12 year old steel Inbred 29er frame this autumn with something a bit longer, ideally to build a trail & track commute, bikepacking workhorse.

New On-Ones are a myth. Fortunately other brands are available.

Apparently a few prototypes went missing form a container ship in the Horn Of Africa en route from Taiwan. Here ex porn star and local MTB enthusiast gives Brant's new/retro bar and grip combo a work out. However Planet X/On One MD baulked at Brant's eco friendly wooden bike design so don't expect to see it on pre order any time soon.

Summer is rapidly slipping away; it was 5C overnight here in Angus, making the morning commute a bit fresh for once. Looking at the hills and the fields, the colours are now fading fast and autumn is only just around the corner.

So, Brant, where are these new On-ones and is there to be a 29er Inbred that might interest me muchly...? I'm not in a desperate rush but it would be nice to have that new frame before winter gets here. Failing that, I might have to look at spending the extra on a Genesis Tarn or maybe even stretch to something exotic like a Nordest Sardinha...

I thought summer north of the wall officially ended 24h after the pagan festival of 'taps aff'? Mid June this year IIRC?

Not sure his name has been used enough times yet? Maybe it has and @brant will be along soon.

All are chugging through production. It just always takes ages longer than you would hope.

Same as the new Singular Swift it’s taking ages

Brant, I'm keen for a new 29er frame. The old one shrank recently, maybe through having been out in too much rain again this summer. Or maybe it was something to do with having spent time on a Flare Max, which means every other familiar bike has just got a bit smaller...

Cheers everyone, seems like we have some news, so @brant how much will the new scandal be? There must be a price now?

We can all laugh at prices and other brands being available, but I aint got £k's of money for new bikes and I like building bikes up; 'built rather than brought'is a phrase I use.

Didn't we say £199 for the Scandal? I think we did. I can't remember.

It was £150, gotta keep to it Brant...
What width is the rear wheel? Better be 135 mm so I can switch stuff over.
Some photos would be good to see.

Will there still be an alloy space chicken? I’ll hold out on scratching my gravel bike itch if there is.

Why not? Are they not proud of their welding?

What colours did you go for?

Black, white, British green and glow in the dark?

So is the Scandal going to be Scandium and Ali, like it was always meant to be? Or is my memory wrong?

The frames going to be between £150 to £200. Do you really think its going to be made of scandium?

I think we made one round of actual scandium scandals then reverted to 7000series as it made no difference.

Also:- 30.9 post.

May I ask why?

Just the factory's preferred option or was a choice made for another reason?

Just wondering as 31.6mm would probably be most people's choice for maximum cross-compatibility but some brands still like to stick with 30.9mm.

Yeah. I used their seat tube. Then we had a discussion about warranty. Then the seat tube ended up having to be 30.9 internal not 31.6 because of extra wall thickness for durability.

In answer to my earlier question ^^^^ about the Tinbred, seems today's PX email has the reason ...

TOP OF THE POPS :: PLANET X TEMPEST :: Affectionately known as "The Dad Bike" and selling so fast we've had to concentrate all our titanium production on it, blocking a new line of mountainbikes we had to launch! From the 1x 650B to the 2x 700c models, every one is flying off the shelves and it's the most popular bike at Pick It, Build It, Ride It too. Don't miss out on the preorder stock that's just become available."

All well and good. But I have my Ti gravel bike (Pickenflick) and now want a modern Ti HT please!
