The Tektro Mini Vee's on my Day One are all gummed up with cack. I just can't get the tension to remain constant, leading to draggy brakes after a couple of miles and it's driving me up the wall. Worst is they appear to have been assembled in a manner that means they don't dismantle for proper cleaning.
Can anyone recommend anything a bit more maintainable?? Don't really want to go to Canti's due to hangers needed etc. and they have to me Mini Vee's due to drop bar road levers. Ta.
Are you sure it's not your cables that are the problem?
Mini-Vs are pretty foolproof IME.
How would that be? the problem is that adjust the tension springs to make them work evenly, then later either one side of the other is sticking again and I have to readjust. The cable pulls both at once, so I can't see how that would cause the problem. If you release the cable and close them by hand the tension feels uneven too. I'm convinced there's a bit of salt, dirt and corrosion in there that I can't get at.
Anyhoo, off to bed now, will catch up with this tomorrow hopefully.
