fancied a change from the current frame so i bought a giant reign x2. wife wasnt happy about it and i picked tuesday evening of all nights to drive down the M62 in the pouring rain, galeforce winds and fog to go get it.
then last night while she was asleep i sneakily gave it a good clean in the shower and then stripped it down and gave all the bearings/pivots a clean and regrease...
now need to find the time to transfer all the parts onto it this weekend while she gives me more earache over it...
more pics to follow once i've started the rebuild
Great frames those Reign's. Had one many moons ago and was a blast with 36's up front ๐
sticking my 170mm 55CR's on...the frame has also got offset bushes fitted so the headangle is 1 degree slacker
wont know if this is too slack for my liking until its built though
i`ve got a similar age trance and its great. mine does need offset bushings though so i doubt yours will be too slack.
They were c69 degree head angle IIRC with 150mm forks
previous owner ran a pair of lyrics on it and said the headangle was around 65degrees with the offset bushes

if i dont like the way it rides with the offset bushes i'll let you know...maybe we can swap bushes
what forks are you running on yours?
right so....Friday night i started to get very restless...wifey fell asleep in front of the tv then buggered off to bed at midnight...
so cue the toolbox coming downstairs along with the bike and frame
after getting all the tools ready i started at 1am and finished at 2am
