im looking to get a new helmet.i should have 50quid to get something but unsure as to what to purchase,ive looked at the giro hex but the 2011 model is running in at nearly 80quid but could get 2010 model at 50quid,is it a helmet worth buying or is there something better for the money??
I've got the 2010 Hex - solid, breathable and dependable lid (speak from crash experience!).

Are prices rising like this across the board?
Unless they have changed the design of the Hex I wouldn't get one. Its a good helmet but the groove in the front makes sweat drip down your face and onto your glasses.
i have a scott karma lid. awesome fit and feel. it replaced the met choas lid i burned 🙂
go between 65 and 80 for the 2011 model but 45-60 for the 2010 model.
+1 for the Hex. Very comfortable, reasonable ventilation and very tough - from personal head/rock impact experience
Picked up a 2010 Hex for £34 a couple of weeks ago online - unfortunately can't recall where. Very comfy helmet and not overly sweaty using it even if being strenuous on my commute.

I like my Giro Hex though - and they only seem to be £45 from CRC?
