How do you know that? She could be cleaning a few chimneys or picking up bits of cotton from under a row of looms.
On a more serious note. You can get some very nice and light 26' wheeled mtbs second hand at the moment. My daughter is the same age as yours and she's on a posh cannondale for very little dosh.
