New freerider pro sizing?

Adidas app suggests ordering 1 size up from normal. Which begs the question, why not readjust the scale if it's wrong?!
Anyway, does anyone have any real world experience of the sizing?

Mine are not the new new ones, but about 8 months ago, mine are 11s.. they're slightly tight on me. The Freeriders i've just bought are 11s and perfect on me... So i'd say yes to sizing up.

FWIW mine are for sale in the classifieds for cheap cheap.

As the app says they are now about one size smaller than they used to be. No idea why its not like they charge more for larger trainers?

Yeah I bought some freerider pros to replace worn out freerider elements. I got uk 10 eu 44.5 instead of uk 9.5 eu 44. They are definitely tighter than the old ones but fine when riding. I wouldn’t be comfortable walking far in them. To be fair my right foot has spread a lot in recent years so I’m needing a 45 more often.

Not the same shoe but part of the new range, I tired on the new Hellcat in a UK 7 and it was too small to even consider wearing, had the old Freerider Pro in a UK7 and it was perfect.

I bought a set of freerider pro primeblue last week, I wear a size 9 show and bought size 9 freeriders pros, they fit fine

I have both the old and the new, had to go up one Eu size to get the correct fitting

Just got some a few weeks ago. Usually a 9, went for a 9.5, and fits fine. Could probably have gone for a 10. Definitely size up from your regular.

Are they narrow or short? Have they changed size again?
I've got a pair of Minaars in 46 that fit nicely but when I bought a pair of Freerider EPS when that PSA for big discounts on the app was posted a while ago I followed the advice in the thread and I went up a size from normal, so from an 46 to a 47 and they are still a bit tight on the toes if I'm not careful putting them on. I do wonder how much of that is down to the really stiff EPS upper though.

I'm in the market for something with a bit more give in the upper and I fancy trying the Trailcross but they seem to be very low stock everywhere and none of the discount codes for the app work.

I bought some trail cross last year, they are narrower than my old freerider contacts and probably a bit shorter. Could have gone up half a size there. I much prefer the got of my old freerider contacts, hence looking at the new pro. I'll definitely go up a bit then, tempted to just go half a size tho. I've never needed to go up a whole size in any shoes ever.

Well I normally take a size 10 in everything, ordered a 10.5 in the new freerider pro primeblue, and they're snug enough (and way too tight with sealskinz) for me to be exchanging them for an 11.
No previous experience of 510s though, so can't comment on that.

Here's an interesting story about sizes that a Lake distributor told me....

Companies such as ADIDAS do not own the "last", which is the mould used to make the sole. They get their shoes manufactured in any one of many factories  - whoever is cheapest at the point of order and other such factors, so there are differences in the sizing from year to year and in fact from model to model so a 44 Freerider may not even be the same as a 44 Freerider Pro as they could be made in different factories.

Lake however, do own the "last" and their shoes are therefore always exactly the same from year to year and model to model, and if you buy replacements in 10 years time they will be exactly the same size...

I have no experience of or any way of measuring this claim but it does make sense...

I find it hard to believe that a company the size of Adidas don't have their own last .

I remember when my mum took me tor shoes when I was a kid her talking about the different lasts and that was why you had to try them on etc. Even Clark’s aren’t all the same she said. And of course it would vary through the week as things stretched/wore etc etc. I hate buying shoes online it’s the one thing I will have to go back to a shop for after covid. My feet are different sizes and due to the weird shape of my right foot in two pairs of shoes that fit my left foot like a glove (edit- I mean sock obviously) my right is tight in one and in the other it’s too loose.

Just ordered some Freerider pros and they are way too tight and narrow compared to my old freerider DLX in the same size. Can anyone confirm if the Pros are narrower than the current regular freerider design or are they all like this now?

and can I tag on and ask if new freerider pro is diffferent to a 2019 freerider pro?
Reached the stage of "not urgent, but looking and will buy if on sale", becasue my current ones are showing a bit of wear.

The Pros seem to be narrower but before the Adidas logo went on the tongue they were true to size in length. The Adidas branded normal Freeriders are half a UK size small. I think the factory and sizing change coincides with them gaining Adidas branding.

My kid has Freerider Pros and we ended up going up something like 1.5 sizes bigger than we expected.

They are also visibly narrow!  If you have wider feet have a look at Ride Concepts (I take a 9.5-10 in normal shoes and ordered a 10 in RC Helion Elites and they fit well) or Leatt which come up wider apparently.

I went up half a size from freerider element to new freerider pros just before Christmas. They feel narrower and if I hadn’t got up half a size they wouldn’t have fitted (I bought my normal 510 size and the next size up having read reviews - sent the smaller pair back for a refund).

I can confirm that the regular freeriders are now smaller. Interestingly on my UK size 8, the US size is stated as 8.5. On my old pair of UK 8 the US size is 9!

I bought the Five Ten Freerider primeblue in exactly the same size as my old ones which were a 9.5UK, total error, they’re not the same size at all so I’m either a UK10 or tempted to go UK10.5!

Just a question too, yes I do have sealskinz but I found for example in summer if my feet got wet in the freeriders they stayed warm and dried quickly, would anyone say the same for the freerider pro’s?

Are there benefits getting the pro’s over the standard freeriders?
It might be my feet but in the standard ones possibly as the material’s a bit thicker, I never struggle with cold toes so wouldn’t want to get the pro’s to find the opposite

What are the current freerider pros like for space in the toe box?

I have Freeriders with no Adidas logo. They fit perfectly with a nice snug heel and wide toe box. But the latest Sleuth DLX are tight round the toes and slip at the heel.

Bought some Freerider Pros last year and found they fit very similar to Sketchers. Didn't need to size up.

Freerider Pro in UK 14. Narrow and overly snug at first, but they do ease up a bit. Initially (first few months) had to use some super thin insoles to add a bit of wiggle room, now back to original squishier insoles.

I think it's a vaguely recent Adidas change: maybe a change of factory or similar. I had some Terrex GTX shoes which were perfect in 14.5, but tried the new model a year or so back and they were unbearably tight.
