[#4416797]

my old bombers keep hydrolocking......so i am gonna buy some new forks.
170mm is a bit too long for most things anyhow.

so what is a good fork for a 456?
asking cos i have not bought a fork for nearly 5yrs.

I have 150mm 36's (vintage 06) Quite nice and balanced. Solid as a brick outdoor toilet.
Also run some 160mm Bombers of various incarnations on it very well.

Missus has some 140 pikes that go fine too

Nothing modern here ๐Ÿ™‚

Old 36 talas (110-150) on mine. Never been a fan of travel adjust or air forks, but these are just about perfect for a 456. I can make them tall and soft or short and stiff in seconds.

I had some 150 coil Sektors on mine. Perfect. Dead cheap too.

I had 150mm revelations on mine which seemed spot on.

And now a bit of a classified ad as I'm selling them. Email me or check my classified ad for more details.

Sektors are the same chassis as Revelations. Which are great forks too, but you might want something stronger since you do uplifts and the like on this IIRC? What's the rest of the build like?

Coil lyriks are bloody brilliant, and strong like ox, but heavy.

U turn Pikes on mine, set at 125 most of the time. Anything longer makes the front a bit light (sumatt to do with too much weight too far back methinks)

Revs/Sektors would be a bit lost on that! Pikes or up, it'll have benefits and the weight'll be lost in the bucket.

I'd have coil u-turn Lyriks, personally. Genuinely a totally height adjustable fork, will work correctly at whatever length you choose but also give you the flexibility too.

Pikes or Lyriks. I've run both (on a 456 too) and just love the Lyriks.

Sektors aren't burly enough IMO, for your build (I've tried those too...)

[all these were coil]

150mm Sektor RL's cope with most things.

Steep climbs can be abit tricky but I think that is down to stem length being 50mm 25 degree rise. Absolutly not rider skill.
