I felt the need to big this thing up... It's incredible!

[img] [/img]

El guapo v2 frame
Fox 36 rc2 fit
Cane creek double barrel
Xt drivetrain with clutch mech, 1x10 with wc fat/thin 32 tooth chainring.
Reverb
Fatbars
Spank 75mm stem
Flows on superstar hubs.

I've replaced my well specc'd (same components) santacruz blur lt with it, and this thing is better up and down!
I was expecting it to decend well and it doesn't diassapoint. Set personal records all the way round llandegla black on the first ride and jumped into the top 500 ish on most decents on strava. But the more important thing is how much fun it is! Fast and stable without being Boring and ironing everything out. Turns very quick.

The cane creek double barrel is especially good! But its the way it climbs that I wasn't necessarily expecting. I ran 2x10 on the blur, and run 1x10 32 tooth front on this, I was worried I wasn't fit enough... Now I'm thinking of changing to 34/36 front. So much traction and the front is planted!

I can't speak highly enough of it, don't let the relatively low price, and relatively unknown brand put you off, I can't think of much I'd want to swap it for! Plus... Well look at it!

Ha - was thinking the same Rob 😉

And sorry, for me, it's a bit El Goppo - dunny like. No offence intended - I'm guessing it'll be a bit of a marmite one that!

Well I think you should ignore the miseryguts.

Your bike looks great, is the frame stickerless or are they just low-key? Nice and utilitarian looking anyway. I don't even mind the white rims.

Get a shorter stem though, 50mm should do it.

Well typically the descents are out of up to 5000 riders.

I agree, they are gopping bikes

Yea, out of 4500-5000 ish. I'm not that interested, but its interesting how much quicker I was even of the first ride!

She obviously a bit marmite looks wise, but I love it! It's bare ally with silver stickers and clear anodising.

I had a 50mm stem, I like 75mm, but I am quick short leg/long body... So 6 foot on a medium frame fits me well.

Fwiw, nice bike, you seem made up with it and let's be right, that's all that matters...

Ps did you get the chain from Argos... 😉

In was top 10 somewhere on the Afan w2 last year, and I'm not know for my descend prowess.

Anyway, nice bike, I've considered one of the on one bikes for messing about on. Although I have no messing about time.

Don't read too much into my strava comment... It was more to show how much confidence I had over and above my old Santa Cruz, and stumpy evo.... No small compliment! But for the record were not talking 1 minute sections on barely ridden trails... We're talking 5000 rider full llandegla sections... All of them, not just one.

And no the chain isn't from Argos! Lol is a top end kmc! Although I accept silver would be much better placed!

Nice and I like the chain, although it did look rusty at first glance... Would love to have blast on one them round my local trails.

As posted above, you seem chuffed with it and that is all that matters 🙂

I quite like that.
How much do they cost roughly?

Frames regularly go for 400-600 depending on condition and which rear shock they have... The cane creek double barrel on this is the making of the bike if imagine, it is amazing!

Frames are only 600 quid new with a monarch from on one, not currently a available with a ccdb but think here £800 when theyre in stock...The rest of the build is pretty standard components depending on preference....

I recently built one up absolutely fantastic bike. Downhill race for the first proper run probably wasn't the greatest idea but now I am used to it I love it. The Fox 36 Float transformed the bike compared to the Marzocchi 55 ata i was running. Great frame for the money should be more about but i guess there are too many bike snobs around.

Its the best bit! I think most other bikes look dull now... Marmite I suppose!
