Anyone know anything about the new trails I'd heard they were thinking of building at Cwmcarn, sure someone at Mountain Mayhem said circa £5million was being invested there and at Afan? Would be great to have another xc loop there so could do a longer ride without doing the loop twice!

I not know anything about new trails being made at Cwmcarn.
But there is plenty natural trails around that area to fill a good few days, so def never a reason to do 2 laps ... well, not unless you really wanted to.
There is a new website for people riding around that area to meet up. The guy who owns the site may try to pressure you into paying a £20 membership 🙄 ...just ignore him ... but just turn up on one of the locally advertised rides. I pretty sure the guys who do the actual riding wont care in slightest if you payed membership or not ... and they will show you some nice trails.

they've done lot of work in car park area and altered the free ride bit at top of hill. and also noticed alot of piles of stone on side of trail last wk..... i was thinking maintenance opposed to new trails??
Don't know the details, but read in the press about more trails there, pretty sure it was a couple more DH runs and another XC loop. Went there in Nov and a lot of earthwork was going on in the carpark
Yeah the car park's been finished and is much improved so good work there!
Will have a look at going on one of the rides moonman, cheers, sure there must be loads to ride around there, its full of hills, just knowing where to go!
yea carpark finished now its split level car park with decent marked out bays which are long enough to park cars with racks on the back.
new xc loop would b good.
theres a new xc loop at forest of dean.. deffo worth a visit we did the new Verderer's Trail followed by Freeminer's Trail. worth arriving early tho.
New trails are due to be surveyed in the spring and then building will start later in the year is what I've been told, Halfway up is a great club the cost of memebership covers liability insurance, discounts from various companies along with a load of other stuff.
Mooman as usual seems to a personal axe to grind about something 🙄 , I'm sure you'd be welcome on any the club rides Cardiff just fire the club guys a mail
