Hi,

I am looking for something with disc brakes, will take mudguards and panniers and won't break the bank. Over the weekend I will be looking at:

Boardman CX Comp
Norco Search S3

Any thoughts about these bikes, or other bikes I should really look at around the £600 mark! My commute is going to be about 14 miles each way on mainly rural roads.

Cheers

Planet-X Kaffenback? BB7 disc brakes, Tiargra build, solid (if uninspiring) frame, OK wheels, reasonable build kit, £599. I'm not sure you'll get much better for the money

Genesis CDA 10 @ £699.

Claris group, TRP Spyre discs. Fixing points for the bits you need.

But the PX above is a bit of a bargain.

Just picked up an Arkose 2 today for the duties you describe, it's interestingly different. Assuming tcb comes through OK it'll have cost me ~£680.

How about this - you may be too tall for it, otherwise it's perfect* 🙂

The kaffen is a bit of a bargain and with the change you can get a nice set of wheels. Having owned one, the wheels made the bike a lot more livelier than the stock ones.
