An age old dilema made worse by current prices. My XT760 chainset needs a new BB and new big ring (and I'm always in need of new middle rings). So, do i buy;
New Hope Ceramic BB for £63 (CRC are selling the 83mm one for £62 and I assume it is only the centre sleave that is different to a 73mm one?)
New rings, either Middleburn hardcoat slickshift, FSA or raceface
OR
new XT M770 complete chainset and BB for £140 from Evans Cycles
There's not going to be much in the price, the Hope BB is going to be better, but are other rings going to be better or worse than Shimano's?

You should be able to get £40 for your old crank arms and rings
That makes the new XT M770 a net outlay of £100. Bargain.
