Spot on! Looks nice.
now that looks nice,
sorry but the carbon 456 is fugley whichever way it is built
Do like that pink 456. Very nice with the white forks, and I generally don't like white. Nice build! 😀

Think again my friend!
To be fair, I thought the same as you until I bought one and put some thought into building it.(It's all the black parts the custom decals that make the difference, I think)

Though it did change with White crest rims, Thomson and king bits. All of which are now on a carbon 456
Sorry to go off topic, buts regards to the Carbon 456, i agree it looks well fugly as a frame alone, but if you build it well they look mint,
Loving the pink frame build, 28LB thats seems a tad light for the componant spec would have thought more like high 29 to low 30LB, what is the weight of the frame alone?
How do you find the slack seat tubes? I was looking at getting a C456, but being a lanky, leggy type I reckon I'd end up half way over the rear wheels on climbs or need a reverse layback (lay forward?) post.
Think again my friend!
Nope, they are just ugly as hell no matter what. So long as it rides fine.
@ mountainman123, I have no idea the frame weigh but it's just over 28lbs without the pedals, I guess it will be over 29lbs with pedals on, btw frame is 18"
Cheers all

No they're not.
(This could go on for a loooong time 😉 )
But yes they do. Better than fine actually 🙂
PETERPODDY i think someone may be jealous 😉
looks good, great colour.
Some do look ugly IMO, but some, like mine look Freakin Sweet!
And thanks to my repaired broken neck not liking a hardtail it is going to have to be sold (or swapped for a full suss / frame) after just 4 short rides..... Joy.

bigboyxc
it does indeed look very very nice that, be nice in the whippet colours i reckon....id seriously consider one of these if i went to a HT again
Jezz, that looks even worse than the black one! Awful looking things.
........show us what you've got then Coogan
Turner 5 Spot DW link version. Not the best looking bike out there either. Dialled Alpine, bit better looking. But like I said, all about how they ride.
(Self Edited). Was going to put something very childish but decided against it.
Coogan you really should try a 456C before you slate them openly. They do ride well and I have owned / ridden lots including 5 Spot, 575, S-Works Stumpy, etc. Each to their own...
Now ***** off! 🙂
I must agree that black and green one looks vile, silly white wall tyres on it, raw carbon with clear laquer looks way better.

this is my lovely 456 Carbon. Love it to bits.
My eyes work, and dem bikes is ugly. Really ugly. The black one more so than the green one.
And that...is
I've never ridden one to slate it openly. I'm saying they look ugly. Just my opinion.
Nice Rainbow nice.
I can only imagine the majority of people who hate the Carbon 456s ride 09 Specialised Stumpjumpers in Dark Blue .
I have seen mountainmans 456 in the flesh and it is one of the sweetest hardtails I have seen (and ridden). Throw in its iconic status of the first (?) hard hitting carbon HT and it makes for one pretty cool bike.
Oh...and not a single bad review to date.456s in all their guises rule. EXCEPT FOR ONES WITH WHITE WALL TYRES!!!!!
RagTi... I couldnt agree more white walls is for retrobikes!!
If i remember rightly, the 456Ti was the first bike to get 5/5 in what mag, then the 456C is lighter than the Ti and the 456 steel is fantastic value for money, as with all the On One range.
I rode my 456 yesterday for the first long ride since re-framing. That was the last bit of the bike to be replaced; I bought it on the C2W scheme about five years ago and have gradualy swapped bits out as they failed. Because my bikes are called by their colour (The Blue One, The Red one....) I needed to find a good condition original 'that blue' 456 frame. £70 off here - bargain.
My servicing approach is best described as variable; mostly things get cleaned, but otherwise I wait for the next bit to break before doing anything much. In this case, I thought 'd really go to town. It made sense to have the fork serviced and properly fettled, change the bearings in the wheels, put all new cables on, new chain/derailleur, straighten the bent sprockets in the cassette and clean everything obsessively. Total cost for everything was around £250.
The 456 has always been great, but yesterday, out in the Chilterns with dry trails, hazy sunshine and a great riding companion (hi Gary!) it really shone. There are lighter, quicker bikes around, and the 456 still flexes a bit too much for my liking around the BB area when you're really grinding yourself up a steel bit, but it's the one bike I've always been happy with, and have never thought was deficient in some part of its design.
A brilliant bike. The best isn't always cheapest, but with the 456 I believe the cheapest is best.

this is my lovely 456 Carbon. Love it to bits.
POSTED 10 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST
That is the same as my first 456C. Looked plain and dull to me but as you say, each to their own I guess.
Whitewalls were cheap at OnOne so bought a pair, not my first choice either but 50% off was too good.
