I'm currently running Hayes Stroker Trails on my no.1 bike and am not too impressed. I like the feel of the Juicy 5's I have on my hardtail but was thinking of something a bit more bling and possibly british. Are second hand Hope brakes a good investment? I'm thinking about a set of mono M4s or motos but have no experience of either of them.

Seriously. Not one person on here has an opinion.

๐Ÿ˜† @ Hugo

Why not have the same brakes on all your bikes? Problem solved.

i prefer shimano to hope. prefer the lever feel; much less bitey.

Thanks cynic-al that's really helpfull.

The new search function is pish and mainly brings up classifieds. Four pages of people selling Hope rotors wasn't really the answer I was looking for.

I have Hope Mono Mini's and some old Deore's. The hope's looks really nice and are easy to look after but i prefer the Deore's. They have plenty of power, never need looking after and have a really nice feel to them.

I would try and find some XT or the like if i was you.

dude, chill - you have to give people more time to answer!
Personally I'd recommend some Formulas - I've found my Oros to be v powerful, with good modulation and not too much maintenance required. The mtb mags love 'em, too, and you can get various options from superlightweight to freeride suitable.
