[Closed] New bike - what do I want?

I had a 160 travel 3x10 Pronghorn and a SS 96er Carver which I often rode fixed. Two scoats removed the and left me with an insurance cheque.

I haven't ridden much in the last few years while my ankle was flecked but the quack has fused that so hopefully in three months I will be allowed on a bike again. Which bike do I buy?

I want gears and suspension. I am of the larger build and not terribly gentle. I am faster down hills than up but ride both. According to google this review is relevant : http://www.mbr.co.uk/bikes/bike-grouptests/best-enduro-mountain-bikes-326155

The prices are about right - 2.5- 3.5k but has anything changed? What size wheels? What brands suck and which are Boss on the trails?

I have three months before I am allowed to even sit on a bike so do I buy pre-Christmas or post Christmas? Do I wait for the spring sales or next years models?

All views and prejudice welcome.

This is what I went for. Best thing I ever did.

A Whyte? Great geometry, good spec, life time warranty on pivots, designed for UK, very forward thinking.
