[#10035420]

So I am looking at getting a new bike on Bike to Work Scheme. Last year I got a Boardman CX Comp in small size. I am 5'8 so right on the cusp between small and medium so went smaller as I prefer MTB frames this way. But after having it for a year I think I need the next size up for whatever my next bike is. So this year I am looking at the Boardman ADV 8.9. I want something a bit quicker than the CX Comp on the road but not sure the geometry is massively different.

https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/products/2138-adv-8.9.html

It seems good for the price. I don't think I want a full road bike as I want to keep some flexibility on the bike.  I have done a geometry comparison between the two but it is in excel so cant paste it in here. I like the hydraulic disc brakes on the ADV.

Any other recommendations? I would prefer disc brake, 2 x 9/10 gearing

Do Planet X or Canyon offer something similar in Geo/Spec for less £ ?

We use Cyclescheme and I cant see Planet X on their list of approved suppliers. Evans, Wiggle and CRC are all on there. Cyclerepublic are on there so I can get Boardman through them (but Boardman direct and Halfords aren't on the list!). So I am slightly limited as to what I can choose.

Alpkit are on the list so that could be an option. It is 1x but looking at the gear inches it has a lower low gear than the other options so hills wont be an issue and I don't think I would top out on the flat either.

We use Cyclescheme at work and people have been able to buy from Planet X.

Maybe worth asking them.

I am going to have a look at a Sonder Camino as suggested by Dirkpitt74 on Saturday to see what fits best and to check I like it. At the moment it is between that and the boardman but my preference is the Sonder at the moment (unless I don't like it in the flesh).
