[#3629850]

Evening.
Well after much deliberation, I have taken the plunge and picked up my new Boardman Team FS tonight. Really pleased with it!

Couple of questions though if you will?

How do I go about setting the sag on the rear shock and what PSI should I be running it at? Is there a guideline by rider weight? The shock has 10%, 20% and 30% markings on the shaft...

How do I know what PSI I should be running in the forks? They are RockShox Sektor TK's (Solo Air).

Thanks in advance?

P.S. Do I need to buy a genuine rockshox fork pump or are the lower priced one's just as good? Any advice on which work well would be good too?

Thanks....

Start with 25% in the forks and shock and go from there mate.

The rear shock PSI is normally roughly your weight in lbs, although you have a guide on there to make things easier.

As for the forks, let all the air out, compress them and measure how much they compressed. Then work out 25% of that in mm, thats what sag you want to be looking to achieve.

Any shock pump will work fine, no need for a RS one.

Locotuningseem to offer a simple easy to follow guide.

any shock pump should do

start off with settign sag at both ends to 25% an oring on the shock shaft should make a good telltale. You measure it with you in your standingup riding position.

then from there alter one parameter at a time to get to the right setting

Cheers chaps!

Looks like the rear shock needs a lot mor PSI in it then lol. Forks looks ok though. I'll check them both when I pick up a pump.

Don't forget weight distribution when adding air in the back. As the back comes up, more weight will go onto the forks requiring a touch more air.

I set the forks. Then the shock. Then the forks again.
