Radon Spire has just been ordered. I was looking at a number of bikes but this ticks all my boxes. Other than fitting a set of 165mm cranks for my little legs (already ordered) all the components are spot on for me. I really wanted a bike with the electronic SRaM force but they were at least £3k with compromises elsewhere on spec - I didn’t have £3k.
Should be with me in less than a week, hopefully.
Just for clarity the cranks are already ordered, not my little legs.
Decent wheels and tyres from the factory, that's a refreshing change. Nice looking bike.
That looks pretty good - sub £2k (just) for carbon frame / full hydraulic Ultegra group / Magic Ksyriums/ decent conti tyres etc - also carbon post and bars I think. Seems brilliant value.
You could always piece together di2 at a later date - I have a bike with full 195 hydraulic other than some fancy Cannondale own brand cranks - gradually buying di2 stuff when I see it in a sale etc. Got shifters so far for an absolute bargain at CRC - £130 for a pair with brakes (setup euro style). I’ve stuck the callipers / hoses straight on eBay (br-r785’s) as I already have hydraulic brakes etc - if I get £50-£60 for those the shifters owe me very little.
I really like the look of that. Looks very good value too.
I was looking seriously at Rose and Canyon but even they weren’t offering the same value. As trailwagger said even the wheels and tyres are good out of the box (hoping it’s the tubeless Conti 5000 but if it’s not I’ll run tubes until they wear out). Carbon stem and bars are a nice touch too for £1700 odd quid.
I was looking at the Planet X Ti Hurricane too but it was blessed with some low rent components in places.
New model ( https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/radon-spire-disc-9.0-914013) still looks like good value, and I prefer the colorway. #BlingCommuter
I like the colour of the model below in this years line up. It’s a lovely green.
