A bit of a resurrection.
696 is FreeRanger and some others...
How about 707? Looks to be slightly heavier than 696 and slightly longer in top tube for given frame size. That actually plays well into my needs.
Only other real difference I can see is no 2 options for front axle, not an issue and looks like 707 can't be fitted with smaller chainring than 36T.

Has anyone used Shimano 12mm thru axles with the QR type lever? Very handy for me getting it in and out of the car etc.? Sizes that you used if possible.
I've a spare set of allen keys in my car boot. Sorted.

I've a Free Ranger, replaced a Full Monty - both XL. Same spec on paper but the Free Ranger feels longer.
