Well our Bike2Work scheme opened up at work and I fancied a road bike, had a look round and got this '18 Specialized Allez Elite Red Hook edition.

The bike is pretty much as it came, bar the addition of the Fulcrum Racing Quattro's and a pair of Vittoria Corsa G+ skin wall tyres, I've had a few rides on it (nothing more than an hour) and it's pretty damn good, I rather surprised about how smooth it feels despite it being alloy, although it does have a full carbon fact fork on there which no doubt helps.

It's got a pretty good spec too, with mainly (shifters, mechs, cassette) 5800 105 with a frankly whopping 11/32 cassette bar, the chainset is a Praxis Alba (I actually prefer the look of it) and Axis long-drop calipers.

I got one a few months ago..... its hard to beat at £999 and I concur re the smoothness, alloy has come a long way in the last ten years.

Those frames are excellent.

Top skinwall content as well!

Lawn looks a bit forlorn, though.

Lawn looks a bit forlorn, though.

I'm not cutting it in this weather, don't want to kill it off.
