Only ordered it in November!

My 7 year old Trek Fuel EX was starting to show it's age through last year, culminating in the shock needing a new air shaft. Except they don't make the part any more as it's one of the proprietary DRCV ones. Perfect time to start looking for a new bike, right in the middle of a pandemic and bicycle gold rush!

Ordered this one in November, had to decide whether to keep the order when the price went up by £400 due to Brexit but with nothing else available I held on to it. Even had another look around just before final payment was due but still nothing around.

So yesterday I got to have my first ever ride on a 29er!!

It's a Canyon Neuron 7.0. Went for it due to the Shimano drivetrain and Fox suspension compared to the next alloy model down and the carbon one above it. The geometry was a bit behind the times looking at the geo chart but after riding it it's so much better than the numbers suggest. Stable at speed, climbs really well with very little Bob, plenty of room and just feels 'right'. Only took a few miles to adjust to the larger wheels, both up and down, so now feels normal. Fits perfectly between my hardtail and enduro bike for longer days and trail centres. A few more rides to get everything adjusted perfectly and it will be perfect for it's intended use.

Love New Bike Day.

Looks very smart. I like the colour and also I like it when the rear triangle runs parallel to the top tube - just looks right then!

Front disc is camouflaged against the background!

Enjoy

It looks much better in real life compared to the website pictures, they really do undersell it!

By heck, a garden with a bridge.

Don't have a garden so went with the next best thing. Comments about the wood needs treating and the weed situation can be directed at NRW 🤣
