[#1633745]

Built this up to replace two other bikes and finished today, couple of bits still need sorting black cable ties for the speed sensor and replace front caliper and braided hose with black hose and an XTR Post Mount caliper, Other than that all good and ready just in time for the SXC "race/ride" tomorrow.

Believe me, the 5 is utterly incredible fun.

You will have a great time on it.

I won't bang on here about it as it will be boring, but let us know how you get on with it.

Positive you will be on here shouting about it.

Thanks, Yes it's an ASR-5 Alloy

Only done a short 7 or so miles but it does feel fast and comfortable which is what I was after, looking forward to doing some more miles on it, and seeing what it's capable of.

Having done a couple of rides on the Yeti this weekend I have some initial thoughts.

It's stiffer than I imagined it would be (good thing IMO), the shock doesn't blow through the travel anything like my 5 used to, huge amounts of grip, feels fast, predictable, comfortable and stable. Very much like a bike I had ridden for years just felt right.

It's a good climber the issue still being the engine (me) but it's easier up than other bikes I have but then it's a bit lighter so should be.

Had to modify the cable outer as it was creeping and getting tight at the shifter, bit of gaffer tape to aid gripping the outer in the cable guides and that was sorted. Also I feel that there is a bit to much weight on my palms so need to look at that too.

Looking forward to getting a few more rides done as I don't think that you can get a proper opinion on a bike until you have more miles in the saddle.

Early indications are that it will be a fantastic bike, and suited to the all day rides and enduro's that I hoped it would be, will probably follow-up after the 10 @ Kirri event and see how I feel about it then.

Very nice indeed. Is it a carbon or alloy rear?
If it's alloy, how much was the frame?
Thinking about a shorter travel light bike so that I can build the endorphin up as burly as it deserves!
Not remotely interested in a carbon rear though.

That looks stunning!!!! Ordered one in the same colour last week but told there is a 4 - 10 weeks delay but I am sure the wait will be worth it.

backhander - it's an alloy front and carbon rear triangle, I have a burly Chumba so this compliments that well.

will1 - I was lucky it was in stock think they had a medium in stock too, it's will be worth the wait (not that I had too!!)

Lovely bike - I am biased though, its the same as mine 🙂 Had mine for about 5 weeks and love it. It feels really fast downhill, would be faster but for my poor choice of tyres. Enjoy.
