Still have the Vagabond. Face-off. One must go. Exciting summer ahead!
Any suggestions for stem and bar? Thinking the On One loop bar for starters. Multipurpose riding incl touring and mucking about on trails.
Your Vagabond is like my Drove I think. Interested to hear which one you keep. I'm using the Drove for everything at the moment, including trail centres ffs, and woulnd't want to get rid. But also find myself looking at Pace and Whyte hardtails.
How come you got such a similar other bike (apart from the bars?)
Nice, needs silver stem though

Good question! Was looking for a mythical doitall bike for 50th so I demoed both a 2016 Vagabond (over a weekend) a Longitude (also 2016) for a few
loops of the local park. Chose the Vagabond and love it except for the slightly short wheelbase which bothers me somewhat.
Thing is I also have a P7 (running SS with 130mm forks) so trails are covered but I only have long-term indoor storage for one bike
Also do most grocery-shopping via bike, and the utility (Dutch town thing) bike is on its last legs/in pieces (again from damp storage) so was thinking that the new Longitude could be the thing (with two diff wheel-sets, ie 29r touring tyres w/dynamo hub for general use/bikepacking and a set of 29+ or 650b+ for dicking around in woods etc?)
I *could* put flat or loop bars on the Vagabond but the toe-overlap issue would persist with big volume tyres and pedal-strike on trails is a thing. It’s a lovely ride on gravel and towpaths, backlanes, shopping etc - and scary-fast in woods and on hard-pack trails - but I’m still possibly hankering after a holy grail do-it-all (N- 3) zen existence with one bike. Of course, that could all change/be fixed with a garage in which to keep all four bikes. But I’d like to free up some cash too for luggage/lighting for the ‘right’ bike. Also considered selling the whole lot and buying something like a Whyte 901/905
Isn’t this the third time you’ve considered selling the Vagabond? Fact it, that bike is a keeper.
@fmp- 'tis gone.
Mixed feelings arent so good. Feel like I've inherited an awesome fully-fledged LEATHERMAN Charge+, yet dropped my trusty VICTORINOX Pioneer in the rush 😭
The Vagabond has a degree of 'whoop' when bombing through forests etc, and an angle of attack that made it an inspired climber. The Longitude feels like it can handle anything including WW3, and will eventually get anywhere, but with less 'whoop'. I never got to try the Vagabond with a lighter wheelset, regrettably. I've never been so conflicted over bike choice. But for now, a new adventure...who knows what the Longitude will inspire 🙂
Are you Hora’s twin?
^ 🤣
Hmmm, more Ton's terminal teen
