I picked this up today - I know nothing about it other than its a single speed, made by Phillips and it has what I'm told is a War Office tag omn the top tube which says ERDE 359 WA29703.
Does anyone have any info about it? There isn't much on the net that I can find.
Class. Pure class. Lawn looks healthy too, well done. Pots need sorting out though, and those chairs could do with a new coat of green paint on the arms.
And the birdhouse is on the p!ss.
Your chain's a bit worn. Those brake levers look like they'll skewer a thigh good n proper.
Missing chain aside, there doesn't appear to be any means of driving the bike forward - where's the rear sprocket? Looks like another front wheel at the back!
The back wheel is in the wrong way round and the chain is in a Sainsburys bag in my kitchen as are the original brake blocks! The chairs have only recently been re-painted and re-wooded as well.
I didn't plant the pots this year as I was expecting to have been deployed by now but it looks like thats not going to happen.
The ****ing pigeons keep knackering the bird table.
brake levers need adjusting... unless you have really long fingers!
Well, turns out its a 1939-1945 Phillips Mark V* Military Roadster (made for the British Army).
The * denotes it has conventional brakes rather than a coaster brake.
tsk....you made a bloody mess of that concrete when you painted those chairs ๐
Well spotted! I was getting a bit bored by the time I'd done the fourth bit!
lovely!
I'd see what David Dickinson would give for it ๐
