I have risers on the bike at present with 25mm rise. These are held in a 90mm, 12 degree stem. I am fitting flat bars to the bike and have a 10mm spacer to lift the stem by. Therefore I have to find another 15mm elevation so what stem angle do I need to get to achieve the same riding position?

you'd need to change the length as well - longer stem to keep it as far forward.

if you;re trying to replicate the exact position, why the change?

Laying that out on cad it suggests 14.2° with a 2mm loss in length to the centre of the stem. I'd definately get a mathmatical opinion though.

Remember wider bars need a shorter stem to retain the same body position.

And make sure your brake levers don't hit the top tube too!

NIGHTMARE.

'Why the change?' I am fitting bar ends to the bike and cannot bear the riser/bar-end combination. The new bars are 30mm wider so grips will be the same distance apart.

I suppose the best bet is to fit them with the immediate 10mm lift that spacers allow and go from there. Remember quill stems? How easy life was back then...
