For anyone considering upgrading to bolt-through . . . do it!!! I've put it off for far too long thinking it wouldn't make a difference at my weight but . . . wow!! ๐Ÿ˜€

More pics here if anyone's interested. Forks are Manitou Minute Comp 100mm - coil, so I'm waiting for a soft spring to replace the stock one, but they feel great despite only giving me 70mm travel at the mo'.

I would be very interested in your opinion on these forks, in fact anyones experience of newer Manitou forks. I have been interested in these for a while, but still cautious after horror stories concerning quality control of older forks. I have heard that after a couple of years making them in the USA they are going back to being made in Taiwan again, will this make a difference?

These are Taiwanese forks (the Elite version are still made in USA iirc). At the mo' travel seems pretty progressive, soft for the first couple of cms but needing big hits to move much more but as I said above I need a softer spring than the standard one. That said, after the 130mm plushness of the Bombers they replaced, the bike climbs like a rocket ;>). The TPC compression dial does burger all at the mo' (not a problem for me until I get my spring sorted), but a quick search over on mtbr.com reveals several folks with similar problems - apparently a lot of Taiwanese forks were shipped with low oil levels so hopefully that one should be easy to fix. As far as stiffness is concerned . . . fantastic!! . . . no more squirming or brake rub when cornering . . . I love them ๐Ÿ˜€

I too have heard bad reports about their rear shocks but I'm running an SPV Swinger on the bike and have had no problems at all. I've had a couple of Fox RP shocks before and to be honest kept forgetting to switch the Propedal on and off. With the Swinger it's just a question of setting the desired platform and that's it . . . fautless.
