Whose got em cheapest new?
Looking for 100mm RTL Ti, QR off-hand though got around £450 to spend would take XX if push came to shove but happy with the RTL TI's really...

Merlin look the best but are struggling with the lack of stock.
On-one have similar prices but the remote lockout adds £25

Anyone else worth checking? Have tried CRC, Wiggle, Rosebikes, Actionsport.de... or have we missed the bus on this one?

Stick with the RLT Ti as the damping is better than the XX.

That my advice to the 'buyer' but price wise Merlin have the XX on the money & in stock, and loss of weight is his major goal.
Replacing some 06 Marathion Race's, I've pointed out he's going to struggling to loose much - though he appreciates the forks will work better and be stiffer.

I thought the damping was the same on the XX, just the XX motion control more on or off?

No different MoCo/ Compression unit in XX which doesn't have a shim stack in.

Athough the XX will be a bit lighter, most of the XC/Endurance team run the RLT TI as they prefer how the fork works, rather than being locked or open.

So, again... anyone know of any 2011 RTL Ti's with remote lock out at all? ("Around" the 450 price)
He's getting annoyed and I'm taking the grief...

Have you check http://www.probikeshop.com seemingly similar prices but more choice.

On One have them in both 100 and 120mm flavour (I'd get 120 anyway, can be spaced down to 100 but extended if you ever buy a frame worthy of more travel whereas the 100mm version can only go down to 80mm), in stock for precisely £449.99...

Bit annoying as they were 50 quid cheaper the other week, but that's on one for you! Still cheapest out there mind...

yeah, I know... if they guy had listened to me, we'd have had the forks 2 months ago... but On-One have none with the bar mounted poploc now, which is a requirement.. Merlin have some 2010 WC's which may tempt him (no lighter than 2010 RTL TI's though), but I personnaly don't like the idea of a carbon steerer. The associated faff to finding the proper way & bits to fit it which will probably reduce the discount he getting for buying a 2010 fork

ps: Proper XC dude, with 2 short travel HT XC frames, the 80/100mm would be his preference...

From personal experience, the bar mounted lockout is a waste of time... Already getting hacked off with mine and will likely be removing it sometime in the near future!

But I like mine! He's had it before on reba's & like's it too...
My problem with crown mounted ones, is I forget to turn it off (especially when night riding), not so bad with RS forks but my old Marz's comp's used to leave me brusied and battered.
