Need to lengthen the hose on my XTR front disc brake. Any suggestions on the best way to do this and then bleed it?

Thanks
Amit

I did my sons Deore last night, I know Deore and XTR are poles apart but I don't know how different the procedure is.
I bought a new hose kit.
Leveled the lever and removed the hose from it.
Removed the caliper from the fork.
Removed the hose from the caliper.
Inserted the new hose into both ends.
Removed the pads and inserted a spacer.
Removed lever filler cap.
Carefully placed caliper in rag, undid the bleed valve and depressed the lever, tightened valve.
Repeat until the air has gone, and system is fully working.
Took about 20 minutes, then he rode off.
I do have a bleed kit, but someones borrowing it!

Edit; knowing XTR you probably have to have a piece of kit that's dearer than your whole braking system to even go anywhere near it.

Buy a longer hose make sure it comes with the correct fittings either end, bleed the system, fit it, rebleed with mineral oil.

TBH, if I were you and this was my first time at this again, unless you're reaaly keen to DIY, I'd pay the LBS to do it. You'll probably spend as much on bleed kit, mineral oil etc. I don't think bleeding brakes is as easy as people on here like to make out.

There's instructions on the internet for both, top down and bottom up brake bleeding methods (I'm assuming the XTR system is the same as XT which takes the same pads).

TBF the Deore is simple, but then I've done old cars that use the same method hundreds of times.

I bought a 900mm hose for him, it had the nipples and olives as well as the little block to hold the hose in my workmate.
900mm was more than ample for his 19" hardtail/USE risers/100mm forks if that helps.

One thing that I find helps is to take the brake caliper off the frame and let it hang so the hose is straight.
