I've just swapped out my 180mm discs for 200mm ones in prep for an Alps trip and the brakes feel much better - firmer and more positive lever feel. So I figure my 8yr old 180mm discs are worn and need replacing.

Any particular brand worth buying, or should I plump for bog standard shimano 6-bolt SLX?

I like sram centerlines, not the floaters.
I've been through to the core on shimano discs and that's not fun!

I'd stick to the same brand as the brakes though.

I've just gone up a size and went for bog standard SLX (did have XT floating ones) and they feel very responsive. But then I'd had the others for a few years and I think they were contaminated.

A review of Uberbike finned rotors and pads if you can be bothered to wade through it all! 😀
