I picked up a £30 torch from Maplin. Bright, robust, 2 - 3 hr burn time and works okay as a head torch.

The alpkit headtorches are ace, got 2 of them for camping and they're really bright and batteries seem to last a while.

It'll be Fine, loads of light and usable on the bars of your bike if you do night riding..
Though I've no idea what focus it will be with that reflector, most of the DX type torch I've bought have a 'head' not much bigger than main body & the output has been fine.

PS: Note it says no battery included..

Have you seen Stoners thread? (though do note the delivery time on the one he links to. Other similar torchs will be available with a shorter delivery time)

+1 Alpkit Gamma LED. Brilliant. Literally. I'm about to buy one for night riding helmet mounted duties.

You can pick up a 2 x AA torch from there, bit pricey mind!
