[#13535771]

Picking up a new ebike tomorrow. A trek slash+ ebike.

170mm travel

Tq hpr60 motor + 580wh battery

It will be mostly replacing a trek fuel exe that I've been riding for the last 4 years.

My first foray into the world of high pivots

Welcome to the club! Love mine, set pressures and was pretty much instantly comfortable on it - only real issue I have is the AXS dropper isn’t long enough for me at 170mm - first world problem though.

You got a 9.7 or 9.9??

Oh, and buy a replacement motor cover, mine lasted 5 rides before I cracked it:

I’ve 3D printed a replacement lower bash guard but haven’t had to use it yet.

9.7, will be (probably) swapping out the brakes for hope t4 v4, bars for one up carbon, tyres for anything better than the bontrager ones. Might also swap the fox over to a fox 38 factory that I have spare, but if the rhythm is OK then it might stay.

First ride today, bike seems decent. The rear suspension seems to do a pretty good impression of a hover craft over rough steppy terrain.

The sram db8 brakes whilst not terrible are not amazing either, they'll be swapped for some hope tech 4 v4 brakes off my other bike.

Saddle is not the comfiest either, will swap for my preferred charge spoon.

The sram t type 70 derailleur seems to shift amazingly well, but it's a heavy thing compared to a shimano 12 speed derailleur. The cassette is hefty too. But will just use these until worn out.

The fox 38 rhythm seems good, as does the fox performance float x rear shock.

The mech is a bit heavier for sure, but I think transmission is worth the few grams (you save 30 g by not having the UDH also)

12 speed mechs and cages are so long that a tiny bend in a hanger translates to the cage being a mile out - i find regular 12  speed really sensitive to knocks on the mech, transmission solves that. For the sake of 50g on an eBike, I'd definitely stick with it

The stock Bontrager saddle - guessing it's the same one that came on my Rail -  is horrible.

Seems to be more like a circa 250g difference compared to a decent shimano 12 speed derailluer and cassette, but it does shift nicely, so I'm In no rush to change it.

I presume so, it's not very comfy. I since swapped it for the charge spoon from my other bike.

Just waiting for a new rear tyre and some hope tech 4 sram matchmaker adapters to arrive, then I'll get my current tech 4v4  brakes fitted.

Bike seems good, not terribly lightweight though at just over 21kg. Although that's only about half a kilo heavier than my fuel exe with range extender battery fitted, with similar components.
