I'm planning nan bield for July. As we've only got one night, the bunkhouse is out, so can anyone recommended a good campsite with a pub close by in the area? We'd be driving up, riding then pub/camp.

PS - please don't tell hora

Wild camp lots of places to do that and Eagle and Child in Staveley for beers and food!

I think we need some campsite luxuries. And parking, more importantly

there is a campsite in the village apparently but it is a camping and caravan one and on the other side of the village
Local suggested more luck heading towards windemere way but near a pub will be tricky

most will want a minimum of two night there as well IME

Strap your sleeping bar to your bars and away you go 30 mins riding from the eagle and child and your in great camping country. Stash the sleeping bag and tarp/mat and away you go and pick up on the way back!
Happy to help out as its my local ride !
