Thanks in advance.

dont no but that wishbone is asking to get filled with crap. hope the hanger is a easy to find fit as they can be a bitch and work out more than the frame is worth.

It's a big tube Spondon, circa 2002, most likely originally made for a GSXR1100 engine.

Am I at least close?

That looks like it!! Apart from having no rear brake mounts...just the caliper mount.

Thanks. A great start!!

does look giant. I had an old atx 850 frame and that is what I thought of straight away based on the seat and chainstays and wishbone. my old one was v-brake only though so the dropouts were different. headtube was plainer too.
giant boulder?

Looks like a 2004 Giant Terrago Disc.

I have one in the cupboard at home!

It's a Giant, but not an XTC as they didn't have the lugs on the wishbone, but they do have a gusset on the top tube, welded unto 2002, from '03 onwards they were fluid formed like the one on the down tube.
I'd have a guess at Terrago disc, but if the frame number is still stamped into the BB, Giant UK can tell you.

Just tried a quick check on Giant bike registration & that number isn't recognised, although the GC number does look like a Giant frame number.
Might be worth asking your local dealer to give the guys at Giant UK a call.
