[Closed] Nail polish as touch-up paint?

Seems like a potentially cheap and hard wearing option to fill in little nicks and scratches to paintwork on my steel frames. Anyone else used it? Does it last as long as proper paint? Unfortunately purveyors of nail polish don't quote the RAL colour code so I guess it won'tr be a perfect colour match ๐Ÿ™

Yeah, two of my bikes are gloss bike so that's easy to match, otherwise I just use clear stuff. Works fine. My old NS hardtail actually came with a bottle of nail polish for this reason!

Halfords scratch and chip repair kits are about the same price or only a couple quid dearer than nail varnish.

Ive used it in the past, was ok for a while but seemed to age differently to the paint and eventually fell off.

Revell model paint seems good.

I used nail polish on my Anthem frame, just remember it dries a different shade! The chips were so perfectly blended whilst the paint was wet I nearly smudged it a few times, but it dried a darker colour.

Yes. It works well. Builds to fill the chip as well.

Getting an exact match is hard. I've always bought mine online as it has been black. But somewhere like boots/superdrug would have a decent selection.
