I assume you're not using a tensioner?
If trying for a "magic ratio" you need luck on your side. Poss a half link will help, but it's no guarantee.

Rob , yes tried with a DMR and a Blackspire stinger both push the chain way to close the the stays . i think it needs a 36 on the front to give the tensioner room . just thought i`d ask if anyone had already tried before spendig more money .

The push-up ones tend to only work on some frames or with big sprockets (further from frame). Try a downward pushing one, a 2 pulley one, a half link, or bigger sprockets. One of those should solve it ๐Ÿ˜†

I had a push-up spring loaded thing that I broke within minutes ๐Ÿ™‚

Now using a gussett bachelor (goes either way) pushing down as up gives the same issue you're having. Have been told I use a lot of chain, but I do change cogs depending on where I'm riding so don't want have to change chains as well.

The best thing to do is buy an 8 speed kmc chain, then buy a 3/32" half link from alansbmx.com
