It feels wrong, but I just can't help myself. After a long hard ride I find nothing more satisfying than to crack open a can of cold rice pudding and get munching. A whole can to be precise. I rediscovered it recently and hadn't eaten since I was a kid. Damn it tastes good!!

Any other forumites out there who like to indulge?

ps - the Traditonal Rice pudding with sultanas and nutmeg is bang on.

Most certainly. Your wife is incorrect

Though I don't need to go out for a ride to feel the urge...

Excellent recovery food. Carbs, protein, easily digested.

Rice pudding - mmm.
With milk for protein & calcium,
Sugar for that energy boost,
Rice for long-term carb recovery.

Perfect!
(Damn, beaten to it)

Glad I am not alone. Just looked in the cupboard and there are 8 cans of it. In fact there are more cans of rice pudding than anything else.

If.I'm feeling cheesed off at work, I go out and get myself a muller rice with apple. A real treat.

I found a can of rice pudding hidden in the back of the cupboard last week.

I really want to go and open it right now!

Cold baked beans are good but cold left over chicken curry is the tops.

Your wife is spot on: rice pudding is awful, cold even more so.

Any left over curry is ace.

I had a tin of rice pudding before my race last night. I regularly have rice pudding (with a generous spoonful of jam) for breakfast when I'm riding in a morning. It's on offer at our local Asda at 50p a tin - I must have horded 15-20 tins recently ๐Ÿ™‚

She's absolutely right. You should eat it 1-2 hours before you ride, not after.

Anyone else drink custard from the carton?

proper home made rice pudding is ace.

tinned stuff is rank, and isn't even proper rice pudding.

and so is custard in carton.

@scotroutes - Haha. I would struggle with a tin that size.

She's not wrong. Enjoying rice pudding from a tin is like eating a [s]Ginsters pasty[/s] [s]Walls pasty[/s] Findus beef and onion pie and then enthusing about having just eaten a 'Cornish pasty' ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Rice pud is home-made and is good hot or cold. Canned rice dessert is suitable only for camping/starving/drunk.

Beer after a ride. It's the law.
