Mine will be building a good strong front wheel from my existing Mav EN521 rim plus a shiny new Hope hub!

I just got me a new Cannondale RZ120 as my first toe-dip into the world of full-suss, but the only bad thing about it is the SubZero rims that come as standard. They look a bit fragile for my bang and crash style of riding, so I'm gonna fettle up me a new wheel!

Anyone else doing any fettling this weekend?

Dissertation to write... not much riding planned for me this weekend.

Have you ever built a wheel before, I am thinking of doing it as I have broken freewheel on a rim in the garage that I could play with. Does it just take a lot of patience or is it hard to do?

Easy with the 'Wheelpro' book/PDF, £9 very well spent IMO.

Finishing report and design work for final MA module of the year, so no riding this weekend [again]. The light at the end of the tunnel is coming and a normal riding schedule will very soon return!

I'm marshalling on a couple of stages of the Torbay Trial

Always fun to see classic vehicles being thrashed mercilessly up a muddy slope by dangerous maniacs.

just for the record, this is my next-door neighbour. He's nearly 80, only stopped doing trials on his Norton Commando w/sidecar a couple of years ago. Hero.

If the blinking couriers get their thumb out of their backside it will be building up a 456. Possibly in time to take on a skills session on Sunday morning (asking for trouble?)

It's in a depot 4 miles from my house. What's the chance of it getting here today....

The official answer is I'm helping a mate train for the Ironman

in reality, I do like a ride over the hills on a road bike 🙂

I am designing a bike area for Southampton Sports Centre, planning the various trails, writing up the proposal and finding £10 - 15K to fund the first phase.

Oh, also hoping to get a ride in.

My main project is buying my GF a birthday present after she had a late change of mind last weekend. Apparently she doesn't now want a Rab gillet, she instead wants some vintage jewellery. Brilliant.

I will also be attacking my garden, playing football and cooking some fine food. No riding unfortunately.

If everything turns up in time (gear cables & xtr crank tools)

After work, riding then washing the bike (first wash this year)

Replacing Hope Pro II Rear Bearings & XC Front.
Fit XTR Cranks
Replace Gear Cables & poplock inner & outer cable
Replace Cassette
Replace Chain
Touch up frame where my ankle has worn it down to bare metal
Fettle with the gears, front is rubbing chain a little.
Find out where the annoying rattle is coming from.
Take out inner tube from my LUST tyre and go tubeless again.

Oh dear, that's a lot more than I thought!

That will probably take me the weekend, in between watching the F1, boat race & cycling.

If the weather holds out, I've also got herbs to pot/plant and an endless job tidying the overgrown garden... There was a compost heap, which has now been eaten by the bush, I'll try n find that again.

actually making the 270 degree berm 'hero' crossover line i`ve dug on the pump track without coming to a slow wobbly stop or crashing.

this may involve reconctructing the 270 berm into a dirt 1/4 or wooden wallride to ease tightness of the berm and gain speed. 🙂

alternatively i might be painting the new bedroom, doing a bit of plastering, mowing lawns and collecting a new dishwasher. 🙁

Fix wifes bike tonight.

Possibly get up at 4 for a swift ride in the morning.
Home for F1 Qualifying.
Buy a new fire surround then fit it.
General house work/tidy.
Bit of painting.

Get up early watch the F1 buildup then record race.
Possibly go for a family cycle now wifes bike works again.
Kids birthday party.
Bit of painting.
Watch F1 race after avoiding hearing the result all day.
