I picked up my bike today, after having taken it to them yesterday (Sunday) for help with indexing that I had been struggling with.

First of all, they charged me a mere £10 for the work, then proceeded to point out that I might want experiment with a shorter stem, and gave me two new ones off the shelf. Gave me. Two new ones.

I think that, based on retail prices, that would put me in the plus for having paid them a visit.

Anyway, I am grateful to them, and glad that I only live less than a kilometre away.

My lbs owner won the NoFuss Macavalache at the weekend and is also a Scottish Enduro champ who is supporting a number of shop riders. He is also a coach with our local Go-ride club 😆

We're not all a bad bunch, some of us love riding bikes too and understand what's important to our customers...

Just as my customers understand it's rather important that I have Sundays and Monday's off, so I can actually go and ride my bike... 😀

My LBS (45 miles away) Gave my hungry 28 yr old son a pasty while he was waiting for his rear shock to get looked at.

Bike Scene, Guisborough. Top Shop.

I tried a new LBS recently for a wheel build.
Was told it would take a week, so I said that I wasn't in a hurry, take two if you need to.
4 weeks later, no wheels...

Never ever say your not in a hurry.
But as above Id like to think most of us in shops do care and always try to do the best for the customer,
Just don't take the piss and try to pay with cheap cake

I assume you are supposed to take the one that doesn't work out back and pay for the one that does?

Some good shops out there but it's worth remembering they are commercial businesses not your best mate or something to be taken the Mick out of either.

The last best ones that I used were all down on London. I've not come across any good indie ones up here yet.

Is that the same LBS your son works at?

I think we call that something like 'mates rates' here James ...

Another big thumbs up for bikescene, I went in yesterday to get my command post sorted and whilst sorting that they found the headset gritty so replaced the bearings for free. Top notch lads
