Jesus, just sold a bike on ebay and for the pleasure it cost £70 fees and Paypal £24 for my payment on a £700 bike. I must be out of touch, seems a bit excessive £94 in total.

No wonder some items seem ott price wise.

ebay take the piss these days, your almost guaranteed to have some dodgy **** try to claim a partial refund off you after they have the item too. never use it any more.

Pro Tip. Use eBay as your window, but make sure you make it implicit in the ad you will do a deal privately for cash.

free ebay calculator here. Lets you know how bad your good sale is going to be.
Also agree on the partial refund thing. The whole thing is in favour of the buyer now. So all the dodgy sellers became dodgy buyers. Can be a nightmare!

I had someone win an item recently then ask if I would refund the difference between quoted and actual postage. He hadn't even paid by this point! He never questioned it before placing his bid 🙄

Everyone expects a bargain here, yes eBay fees are a pain, but IME the uplift in price is often worth it on low ticket items.

I offer sell on here or PB, if you don't have fees you can get a quicker sale by reducing the price, buyer gets a bargain, seller can still end up with more in the pocket, a win win all round. However some items sell for silly money on eBay if that's likely to be the case I sell on eBay and even after fees can get a better price.
