[#3412606]

My first foray into the world of hardtail 29ers. The pink is a bit of a departure for me too. All my other bikes are silverish. Not sure I have quite the necessary level of masculinity to carry it off to be honest, but it's getting it's first outing(!) this evening.

I'm surprised at how low the front is, so might have to swap out the flat bar for a riser. Oh, and the white grips weren't my idea.

Why pink? Seriously why? I know peeps think it's all funny and ironic and stuff but I just look at the bike and think even if it was a steal I'd still want to respray to another colour.

So, in summary, nice bike, awful awful colour.

Edit: just reread that and it sounds extremely rude. Sorry. Just dont get it.

I like.

Not sure I see pink as ironic - but then, I'm not really into gender stereotyping colours.

I want a Scandal 29er. Which is pointless, really, as I don't ride the 26er MTB I have, I don't need any more bikes and I don't have the money.

So I'll look at this one..!

pink scandals are ace. there is a little baldy man on a pink scandal 29er SS that rides on the chase faster than a fast thing, he even has a pink ck headset to finish the look.

fab!

I didn't think much about the colour before it turned up to be honest. I'm colour blind, so maybe think less about it than some people. It was the reaction of friends that really made me aware of what a statement it might appear. I'm quite pleased with the look.

I'm off to check the travel. Should be 100mm. ๐Ÿ˜€

That colour makes my monitor go funny and my eyes go squiffy.

As Tazzy says pink scandal 29ers are really fast in my experience (of one!)- probably because theyre nearly red!

Mmm. Went out for a couple of hours tonight on it and really rather liked it. Unsurprisingly less compliant than my ti 26er, but faster, better handling at slow speeds and felt less perched on it. In a bit of a dilemma now as to whether to sell the 26er and throw myself fully into 29erness. I love my Soda, but I'm fairly sure I'm more my meagre skills are flattered more by the bigger wheeled bike. Most importantly it didn't feel any less fun.

This sounds familiar... I keep saying this to the mrs after I raise the subject of a new bike...

I like it but think you need to change the chainstay protector to something coloured. Looks too black in the photo if that makes sense. Will probably look much better when it's got some mud and wear going on
