So... I spend the rest of the week frantically busy talking about new bikes to people, fixing their bikes. So by the time that Saturday afternoon comes, and I've closed the workshop off to paying customers, I'm glad of a spare hour or so to be able to work on my own bikes briefly (the only time in the week I've got spare to do so) in anticipation of an awesome ride the following day...

This week, Murphy has been having a laugh! So last minute invite to go and ride some quality trails over Dyfi direction sees me just giving my FS the once over... Noticed the rear brake has a sticky piston as the brake is dragging slightly, so remove the wheel, pads etc. and try gently to free it off, and... The bloody piston that has seized cracks open, and brake fluid everywhere! FFS! It's only about 5 months old, a Shimano M785 that is otherwise literally as new... Grrrr... Ah well, I have my HT still...

And... Well I knew the Reverb on my HT was developing some play, but 5mm of up and down has turned into 20mm seemingly since I last rode it (a couple of weeks!). ARGH!!! At least I can bung a rigid seatpost in, though definitely won't be riding Dyfi trails on it tomorrow... Bugger!

Still, Cotswolds Jennride it is, was good fun last year so should be good again tomorrow hopefully.

The upside is today has reminded me just how many things I own that currently need warrantying, and that I need to sort them all out! 2 reverbs, 2 brakesets, and a few other bits all kicking about useless now so I'll pull my finger out and get them all sorted next week!

Off to enjoy my takeaway curry and a few ciders now, and the Cotswold trails in the morning. Bloody bikes eh!

It appears I'd jinxed myself...

Woke up this morning, discovered somehow I'd managed to put my Boxers on inside out yesterday!

Ooops

The unintended consequence of having N+1 bikes is having N+1 broken bikes - to many different spare bits and bobs needed to keep all of them ready to ride and the temptation if you've borked one bike to just pick up another. Until they're all borked.
