I currently use a singlespeed Inbred for commuting, taking one of my other bikes when I fancy doing a bigger ride on the way home. I don't particularly enjoy riding the Inbred to work though (always the wrong gear, an extra bike needing fettled) so I'm thinking of selling the parts and just using my cyclocross bike for commuting.
The advantage of my Inbred is that it has a rear crud guard, so it keeps my back side dry on wet mornings.
Any recommendations for guards for a cross bike that are easily removed, look quite tidy and don't flap around and rattle? I race my Kinesis Pro6 at weekends over winter so would want to remove the guards relatively often, only popping them back on when the weather for commuting looks a bit damp.
The Zefal Trail guards seem a reasonable option. Any experiences of this or anything similar?
