I've just wasted £8 on a 'Zefal Kid 16/20 Mudguard Set' from Wiggle, the section is too wide to fit though the frame on my sons Xmas bike.
Does anyone have any tips of a good set of mudguards suitable for a 20" wheeled MTB?
I picked up a pair for a fiver from Decathlon. Firs fine in the frame, but is pretty close to the tyres as the mounting brakctes is right under the v-brakes so needs to be low enough to allow the brakes to move
Id just doctor them to fit personally. My experience with full cover style gaurds is if they are narrow enough to fit through the frame then they wont be wide enough to cover chunky tyres, you need the guard about 1cm wider than the tyre for decent covereage. Just cut some grooves in the sides of the guard where the seat-stays interfere, if you do a good job you wont even notice.
