[#1613050]

One day I'm going to get some mudguards that aren't stupidly fragile, but for now I've got a brand new Topeak Defender M1 front guard but the cambered wedge that holds the guard bracket into the underside of the forks is toast before I've even got it fitted to the bike (bought it from CRC, didn't try to fit it for about 5 months, came to fit it only to find the bolt through the wedge was bent (!) so the wedge won't work as the bolt won't turn, but obviously it's far too late to return).

So, as the guards are still shiny and new I don't want to bin the whole lot, so does anyone on here have one of those cambered wedge bracket things going begging, or know whether Topeak sell spares for cheap guards at sensible prices?

hmm, just logged into the Extra dealer site and there is no spare parts listing for these.

Perhaps phone them tomorrow and ask if they might have one for you - they just might have a ton of them sitting there ๐Ÿ˜€

It might be an idea to contact Topeak directly.

Following a mechanical in the middle of nowhere last year, I got home to find that I'd left the ironically named "pedal spanner" from my Alien II multitool somewhere in the Scottish wilderness. I emailed Topeak directly asking if it was something I could buy separately, and got a reply going "I've got one on my desk, I'll send it out to you." A couple of days later I recieved a jiffy bag containing a new spanner. Fabulous customer service, I was made up.

As per Cougar, customer service at Extra is indeed fabulous - I e-mailed to explain my problem, replacement part in the post the same day, no quibbling.

Because we live in a cool temperate western margin and it rains all year round?
