got my 15 year old a set of the road shoes as his first entry into clipless and they seem fine for the price

Mine have been good for the few months I've had them, only cost £16 in the sale, however I have the mesh panel ones and expect they may require an overshoe to keep my feet warm as the weather gets wetter/colder.

I've got a pair as a emergency spares and they're not very good at all. The sole isn't very stiff so I really feel the pedal through them and they're not a patch on my Specialized ones in terms of comfort.

Go second hand off here - if it doesn't work, sell them on again.

Don't know if they were worth the RRP but for £20 they don't sound bad at all

I've had a pair since Feb/Mar this year, done over 1000 miles in them.

They're showing signs of wear and tear now, and as noted above the mesh means cold feet during the frosty mornings.

Over all, for £22 or whatever it was I paid I can't complain.
