All,

I bought a big bottle of this stuff which looks great and smells lovely so I had high hopes for it. I chucked a load in my WTB Cross Boss tyres for the trip to London down the canal. The first puncture — caused by a drawing pin — did not seal and eventually needed a plug. The second was a split in the tyre caused by some flint as was probably 6 mm long so understandable that the sealant may not be able to deal with it.

Having made it safely home I replaced the split tyre with another WTB CB and set about commuting. Yesterday another rear puncture resulted in me being drenched in sealant before it eventually held. A quick pump up at work saw the tyre remain up in the bike rack but on the way home it gave up again and another drenching in pink gunk, a stop a re-inflate and within a hundred metres it went again.

I limped home on a softish tyre and plugged the hole.

I would have expected this stuff to seal a drawing pin sized hole with some ease or is it just me and should I go back to Stans?

I also found it a bit too thick and gloopy to seal as well as I'd hoped.

On the advice of a pal I mixed it 50/50 with some Stan's and it seems really good so far. Worth a try IMO.

Mine has generally worked pretty well although it's an absolute **** to get off the frame if a puncture sprays sealant everywhere.

That's running on road and CX tyres (Schwalbe Pro One and G-One respectively).

It gets decent reviews. On the rare occasions it's been a hassle it's more down to the fragility of the tyres than the sealant itself. Have to say I'm a bit wary of those G-Ones now, the rear in particular seems quite prone to cuts.

Didn't work very well for me, had a hole that kept sealing and then unsealing again until it totally gave up sealing. Threw some eco joes in it and it's now sealed fine.

It's rubbish. Bin it and get back on the Stans.

Just did not work as well as others.

Took so much more to finally seal brand new tyres...
I previously did the same tyres with stans with less faff the time before.

The way it sticks to the inside of the tyre makes it impossible to scoop out when swapping tyres, so it's a no from me, messy horrible stuff.

Nope it's sh*t.

And in the likely event you get a flat & it can't seal it, you get a disgusting mess all over the frame & clothes which is almost impossible to get off.

Same as above, I tried it and it doesn't work very well.

It does make a nice workshop air freshener if you leave a GT85 cap full of the stuff hidden away in a corner. Smells lovely 🙂

As above, mix it with Stan's and the resulting sealant is very good.

I'd actually go 60/40 in favour of Stan's, or a touch more. Might even be better than pure Stan's.

Looks like a bottle of Stan's is required and then some mixing.

I'll save a little as an air freshener!
