Considering a trip in early summer to Nice. Ideally would be based close(ish) to town as it's easier for transfers. I notice there's quite a lot of trails (might even be a trail centre of some sort) around the village of Levens. Anyone been to it? Any other suggestions? Maybe an hour or so max from the city? Won't be driving so the trails would have to be more or less on the doorstep.

Dunno about the trails around Nice but my experience of the trails around Mont Ventoux is that there's a big difference between the trails marked on the map and what's on the ground. Local knowledge required!
