Being a shortarse I am struggling to find full length MTB trousers for winter slop riding that aren’t too long.

I’m usually a bib longs and waterproof shorts setup, but have been looking at a trouser alternative. My size in jeans is 34 waist 31 leg..

Any suggestions ?

I got some Endura Singletrack Trousers in a sale in large - they’re a perfect fit for me in terms of fit / waist but too long in the leg so feel your pain.

The hems are quite a simple v stitch through the outer and the bottom folded up inside so it’s probably not that hard to take them up. So I’m going to get that done so they fit perfectly. I only paid £55 for them in the sale though - but I doubt the medium (which was out of stock) would have been roomy enough.

I’m 5’9 with about a 34” waist / 32” inner leg. 12 stone 12 presently so fairly stocky.

Ha you should try having a 28.5" inside leg, you're positively tall! In response to your question though I've recently bought some Nukeproof ones that I'm pretty happy with. They're not waterproof but the dwr coating seems to do a reasonable job. I also bought some Endura MT500 Spray trousers & they are too long for me really.

Snap!

I could probably get away with just buying 3/4 length shorts in a large TBH.

My time honoured technique for dealing with too-long outdoorsy trews is to tuck them into my socks. Is that an option for you OP?

Thanks for the ideas. I have some montane walking ones that are too nice to wear on manky bike rides but may demote them, similarly a pair of Life Adventures. Those Keela ones look ideal too ..

I don’t think being regular size helps with trouser length

The endura are so long I got 3 or 4 pairs a year ago and all went back, I’ve now got the endura burner pant II which are two inch to long on the thigh so the knee design is too low for me.

I’ve had fox that come up short fox defend Kevlar and fox ranger are really short..
I’m awaiting the all mountain of decathlon which someone had recommended on here the other day

I'm 5'9 with a 29" inside leg. Shortened my Nukeproof ones one evening after following a YouTube video. Did it by hand, took about 2 hours all in and months later all holding fine.

Just search "shorten trouser legs no machine" or similar.

Hope that helps!

Ha you lanky so and so’s can jog on, 26” leg on a 32(ish) waist, I genuinely have to pay to have every pair of jeans/trousers/PJ bottoms I own altered 😂

In answer to OP I have tried all sorts (mountain warehouse stuff comes closest) but your current arrangement of shorts over leggings is the best for me

Keela Roadrunner pants work well. Bought them a while ago, but only started wearing them recently. Well cut, light weight, not too hot and seem to be water resistant.

@SuperScale20 they are size small & I'm normally a 30 or 32 waist depending on pie intake & clothing brand.

Fox Flexair, I have a 32 and it's good for my 30" inside leg. The next size up is the same length iirc, just a bigger waist.
