As per title really. I use MTB SPDs for all my riding, find overshoes effective for keeping my my feet warm (ish) and dry(ish) but they're hard to get on over the chunky MTB soles, no good when you have to get off the bike and walk through mud, and tear/disintegrate easily.
So, suggestions for something better?
I swear by these: I get at least 2 seasons out of them, and, if I “reinforce” the understrap a bit, much longer. Good price as well IMHO.

DHB for me... even with flats... they work find.
I've found the carnac ones from Planet X pretty good, hole underneath large enough to cope with a XC shoe with cleats and tread (Shimano XC5)and velcro fitting so easy to get on and off. £8 last time I bought some too
+1 for the planetx/carnac ones.
Endura mt500 XL overshoes go over my shimano mw5 winter boots, hold up well and feet are never cold when those 2 are paired up (and with some woolie boolies on). Easy enough to get on and off. Choose smaller size of overshoes of you've got summer style smaller shoes.
I ran Tenn overshoes which where two sizes too big last year (12 instead of 10). It worked okay but was still a pain to put on and remove them. I ended up biting the bullet and getting some shiamno winter boots in the end.
My son has just bought the Endura ones and needed XL to get over his svelte size 9s. Decent overshoes but joke sizing. I bought some Galibiers which are good but a bit flimsy for mtbing
BTW, I ride in winter in 5/10 Tennie boots, size 10, and XL fits nice and snug.
I bought a pair of Ridge overshoes from Halfords a few weeks ago to try them out, as I've never used overshoes before. I picked up the cheapest ones in the shop (£13) and they've been brilliant, best thing for cycling I've bought all year. Feet are warm, dry and toasty and they've kept my cycling shoes in near pristine condition.
Plastic sandwich bags inside the front of your shoes work a treat, and a fraction of the cost.
