Hi, I'm new and just in the process of getting a new bike. Does anyone know of a decent company that does MTB lessons/training in the North West? I'm based in Liverpool, have car so travel is ok within reason. Delamere forest would be great but couldn't find anything on the web regarding lessons.

All help much appreciated.
Cheers
Russ

I'm sure Ed can help you out - Great Rock. Does stuff at Gisburn, which shouldn't be a million miles for you?

Edit: Actually Lee Quarry (near Bacup) is closer isn't it?

It'll take about 1.5 hours to us from Liverpool.

Thay are based just outside Llangollen so Delamere would be fine I suspect.

You're not that far from the chaps at Llandegla are you - One Planet Adventure?

I did a course there with some friends last yr & it was very useful.

If you want to check out our courses and our private coaching options have a look at www.cycleactive.co.uk - we're based in the Lakes and have done some stuff at Delamere for private groups before now. Happy to talk through ideas / options / what you need to cover etc.

Nigel Page does Delamere. He's good. http://www.npracing.co.uk
He's done joint days with Ed Great Rock too. Either of them.

Sod the travelling go to Jedi, he rules on the skills course front. Plus his local stomping ground at Woburn is worth a visit so kill two with one.

I've done a course with CycleActive and would recommend them. I'm doing Ed's stop crashing course Saturday week.

I don't know if that helps but I'm all in favour of coaching
